Melanie K. McNew brings a broad background in litigation support, healthcare regulatory matters, and law firm administration. Throughout her career, she has worked closely with attorneys and clients on a variety of complex legal matters, including the defense of medical malpractice claims, fraud and abuse investigations involving healthcare providers, and commercial and business disputes.
In addition to her litigation experience, Melanie has played an important role in the operational side of legal practice. She has managed day-to-day law firm functions including billing, internal processes, and client coordination. Her attention to detail and organizational skills help ensure legal matters move forward efficiently while maintaining a high level of service for clients.
Melanie’s professional experience also includes service with Kentucky’s Cabinet for Health and Family Services, where she worked with the Office of Health Policy and participated in the administration of the Certificate of Need process. This process governs approvals for certain healthcare facilities and services within the Commonwealth. During that time, she also provided legal support within the Office of Legal Services.
Originally from Wisconsin, Melanie has worked with both large and small law firms throughout her career. Her diverse experience in litigation support, health policy, and legal administration provides valuable insight into complex legal matters and contributes to the client-focused approach at Barnett Law Group.
